Introduction and general information UNIMICRO Veress Needle

Veress needles are used to initially introduce gas into the peritoneal cavity during laparoscopic surgery and can be used as an alternative to the primary trocar.

In this technique, an automatic needle called a Veress needle is used to insufflate carbon dioxide into the abdominal cavity. After entering the abdominal cavity, the needle is connected to a carbon dioxide insufflator (INFLATOR), and the abdomen is gently and uniformly inflated to allow visualization of the internal organs.

Features of the Veress Needle by Takvin Darman Teb Company:

  • A red indicator for checking the gas pressure level
  • A diamond-shaped tip designed to facilitate easy penetration through the fascia (FASCIA)
  • A gas valve that allows control of the inflow and outflow of laparoscopic gases from the patient’s abdominal cavity. When the valve is in the closed position, carbon dioxide leakage is minimized.
